Going Beyond Words is currently located in Sioux Falls, SD
Story of the Radio Show Creation:
In 1994 the program director of Omaha, Nebraska’s KVNO-FM “Classical 90.7” approached Stanley Schmidt about developing and producing a choral radio program. At the time, as now, choral music was popular in Omaha. The city had eight performing choral organizations, and the program director felt that a program of choral music would appeal to listeners in his growing community.
Stanley was excited about the idea and had his first program ready to broadcast in a month. That program and the next 20 were called With Heart and Voice. A year later, Stanley changed the program name to Going Beyond Words, a theme he had developed the previous year for the Clarion Chamber Chorale, a 30-voice choral ensemble which he directed.
